After finally watching episode 7 of Legend of Korra, I have a rising suspicion about Tarlac

The fact that he changed his mind so quickly upon hearing Chief Bei Fong’s suggestion to provide her metalbender cops as protection against any imminent Equalist attacks made me wonder a few things:

  1. Why does Tarlac always manipulate everyone around him when it concerns the struggle between benders and non-benders?
  2. Why did he smirk that unsettling smirk when Lin gave her suggestion?
  3. Is Tarlac merely out to ultimately invoke the civil war that Tenzin fears so much or is he a double agent in Amon’s ranks? How else would the Equalists have been able to sabotage each of the battleships, both air and sea, commandeer one of said airships, and sneak in so many tazer-wielding agents so effectively if not without some intel from a man with that much crucial information?

If you ask me, a man in Tarlac’s position could easily be feeding the Equalists all they need to know. They could certainly use a man on the inside…

That said, what do you lot think? Am I alone in my suspicions or are there like-minded others who feel as uneasy about this Tarlac fellow as I do?

“He loved me well.
It took me years to realize Father might’ve wanted a child that took after him, because I was never made to feel inadequate as a waterbender. He trained with me as earnestly as he did with Bumi and Tenzin afterward. His eyes would light up just as brilliantly for us, for us, because we were enough.”

This is the sort of father I know Aang was. Alongside Katara, he made Kya a masterful waterbender. Bumi’s skills with a bo staff are largely unparalleled because of the intricate technique that went into his footwork. Tenzin is what we’ve been able to see so far.
Aang loved.

New Legend of Korra Clip. Korra talks aboot Asami and seeks relationship advice from Jinora and Ikki.

For a moment there it sounded like Jinora was talking about Mulan. That girl-falling-in-love-with-the-general’s-son part can’t be mere coincidence, can it?
